So for the last month or so i have seen a steady increase in the hydroid population in my tank. I trusted what i have read about them not developing so i left them alone. Today I was just adding a few rocks to my refugium when i actually saw one that had come off of the wall and was swimming around. It is still very small but i am not sure about how safe my fish are with jellyfish swimming in the tank. I have only seen one swimming around but i am assuming that there are some that i have just not been able to find. It is one thing when they are stuck to the glass but when they are swimming around i have much less control. I have seen my trochus snails eating them when they are on the glass but i guess this wasn't enough. I am not exactly sure what i should do about this. I would be very grateful if someone could give me some advice.

as long as it doesnt get big I'd leave it be, chances are an overflow or powerhead will destroy it, but I think itd be cool to have a tiny jellyfish, as long as its less then an inch across the bell I would leave it in until its proven harmful

get rid of it listen to scenario, if you don't see a reason too then just touch it and imagine your fish feeling that since there 1/20 your size.

warning you probably don't want to touch it.

I had thousands of them at one time. I posted some pics in a thread about 5 months ago. It seems that the population of these critters is fleeting. They might thrive for awhile, but before you know it they'll be gone. They're not large enough to eat anything we wish to maintain, and fish and corals survive in the wild just fine beside these creatures.

Don't worry so much, be thankful your aquarium is in good enough shape to experience blooms of animals from the sea. You can tell all your friends that you've bred hydroids in captivity. :)
