A few nights ago I was preparing to clean the glass on my tank. When I looked closely I realised why it looked so dirty. There litterally thousands of hydromedusae on my glass. Do I need to be worried about this? Also I have had a major out break of an unidentified worm. Pure white and ranges from really tiny to a quarter inch in length. They have a feather duster like end but the rest of them are attached to the glass. Any ideas? Thanks

Pics of the worms will help but from the description they are a type of feather duster. Hydroids rarely survive in out tanks so you should not have problems with them.

i don't believe the hydromedusae are harmful. i have seen a lot on my glass and have never had any issues. i am assuming that the white worms are not feather duster worms?

I suppose they could be feather dusters. I am not sure though. They sometimes relocate to another area in the tank. There are no fish in this tank right now.

The "worms" attached to the glass are the polyp stage of the hydromedusae.
