A friend bought some shrimp acclimated them two hours 2minutes in tank and they were dead LFS tested water no copper salt level to low which I feel bad because I told the friend 1.019 to control parasites which I got info from LFS who sold me my hydrometer even though they use refractometer so we both went home and increased salt to 1.023 by hydrometer all my friends fish are dead this morning LFS came out and tested water salt level 1.032 why do they sell hydrometers knowing they're not accurate and how much fish a reef stuff has been destroyed over the years by this same mistake.BTW on my way to purchass refractometer and some fish for my friend.

Sorry to hear of the problems. Unfortunately a lot of LFS' are just out to make money, sometimes even good stores will carry some subpar stuff assuming you know what you're getting into, or hoping that they can warn you ahead of time. If the store is busy or something maybe they normally do inform you of what you're buying and can make good recommendations, but I wouldn't count on it.
Research every piece of equipment/livestock before you buy it IMO, it will save you alot of heartache. If you can't find much info on something that's what 3reef's here for, ask away! :)
