    I would suggest just buying a refractometer myself...much more accurate

    just get on ebay and search "salinity refractometer"...go for something in the middle price range...$40-60 if gonna get you a pretty decent one...

    If you want something cheap and probably more accurate go with a glass floating hydrometer.

    i use the ATI refractometer from BRS.

    A refractometer is the only way to go, not that expensive but ACCURATE! If your going to do it try to do it right :eek:

    It is recommended if you use a refractometer to calibrate it every time you use it.
