Hydrozoan'a

Whats the best and also the easiest way to get rid of hydrozoans(hydroids). I got to looking in my tank, and I got a few hundred of them. All I know to do is to torch the rock. I would really rather not do that cause I have to torch several. I know people have tried kalk paste, but most didnt have any luck.

 

some sea slugs ( nudibranch ) eat hydrozoans, finding the right one to do the job is the trick. the slugs are immune to the stinging cells, and actually use them as a defense mechanism when passed through the skin of the slug. other than that you have to do it the old fashion way.

 

So many different kinds - not really sure what eats what...:-/

But hermit crabs are keep my little brown fuzzy ones under control...

sometimes they just die off by themselves,you will get so many different answers.i used kalkwasser to cover them up.it does'nt poison them like it does to aiptasia but it will smother some of them.i hear joes juice kills them but never tried it.for no reasom mine is getting smaller,something must be eatting them but i have no clue.i have seen stomatella snails neer it and an emerald crab but i've been told they would'nt eat it.

 

I read using super glue injected onto the top of them...where did I read that...let me find it....

I can't find the one I was looking for and I'm sure you've read these.... but hope it helps I'd hate to see you have to nuke your rock(or something close to it!)
