My LFS just asked me for a butt load more of the xenia I brought in last month. The owner is new to saltwater but is learning fast, and whatever she gets in that she likes gets a hefty price tag. The last couple frags I brought in I got a small orange and blue ricordea and around 20-25 eagle eye zoas . . . and she actually got $40 per frag of my xenia.

These new ones I just fragged up will hopefully net me a nice small maxima clam and a bunch more zoas. ;D Granted my xenia pulsates quite well and grows super fast unlike 2 other strains she has at the shop - one is a mis-labeled anthelia, and the other is a xenia but with a very thin stalk and hardly any pulsing.

Wow thats a pretty large price tag for Xenia, I would be taking her all of the frags you can make. Our LFS sells Xenia for $6 even if they are the size of your fist.

Xenia is a weed that thrives in less than perfect water quality - it's what I consider to be a dirty coral.

You seem to be onto a good thing - might as well take full advantage of it.

I payed 25 bux for my pulsing xenia on a pound of live rock that had like 30 stalks on it. To bad I don't live in FL so I could trade some in lol.

Its really been going nuts in my tank since I added in my trigger and the sailfin tang, looks like the upped nitrates are really paying off. I couldn't believe it when I walked in there today and she had one of the original 3 frags (2-3 stalks max each) left with a $50 price tag. I think what she did was market it as "really good" xenia, and that it is next to the other crappy xenia that doesn't pulse and the anthelia.
