I just added green star polyp. And its all closed up right now, so i see nothing but bald purple surface. Is this purple color a coraline? or is this purpleness a green star polyp?

Anywhoo, when will they open up and be green?

you will get used to seeing the purple. They will open up soon. Give them a day to get adjusted. Mine did the same thing.
After a few months, I thought they had died because it stayed purple and started to droop alot. Turns out, they were moving themselves to a different place.

Good luck, you will love them

no idea. and I didn't know they moved either. I had glued mine down and it honestly moved. I thought there for a while that they had melted and something was wrong. I asked my neighbor robman to come over and take a look, and when he did, he told me his was doing the same thing. I am still learning with all of this....

never heard or have seen them move..but that purple is the mat they close up into when the lights are out.Its the "skin"they grow from/out of nothing to worry about.some times they close up for periods of time but no big deal..oh and make sure you don`t let debris settle on them that will make them stay closed...HTH..
