Sure will. I don't think it's the reactor, but we'll see.

Equip. Isn't caked with any precip.

I wouldn't think it's precipitate. My thinking is that precipitate will settle fairly quickly. Although, I'm not too familiar with ca reactors and it may be that the reactor or carbon or gfo could be altering chemistry to produce this haze. That being said, I'd put my money on either micro bubbles or a bacterial bloom.

Two days offline, still cloudy. I'll give through Friday night. Then I'll kill the skimmer.

You said earlier that you have chaeto and a 120 watt light over it. Are you still running this setup? How much chaeto do you have? How long do you run the light?

I'm fairly sure it's a bloom. As I said before, having lived through it it is annoying. Killing the skimmer won't help at all though, quite the opposite. You need the skimmer to do a better job. You need something to help you bring this to a manageable level. I used a UV sterilizer. You can get a cheap one at Petco for like $40. They suck for almost any purpose, but will help clear a bloom.

reading everything here.. My vote is a bacterial bloom of sorts. you may have had a good deal of phosphate and nitrates and had a bi bloom. it is still blooming. Have you tried hitting the system with some UV?

I assume that at this point you have ruled out micro bubbles? If so, that makes bacterial bloom the more likely cause. Have you carbon dosed or is there a source of loose carbon in the water column?

I vote bloom too. I can't help thinking about a friend of mine that asked me for help with his freshwater tank. It was cloudy as hell and he was complaining about it. Kind of milky white when I saw it. I asked about water changes and he said he had been doing them a lot. I asked "How much are you changing?" He said 100%. I told him to leave it and only do 20 - 40% when doing water changes. His blooms went away. I know you said you have only done one 100% change, but I thought I'd share. Can you post a pic of this cloudiness?
