    Hi Reef Sparky

the last major purchase I made was a 1/4hp Chiller
ambient temperature was the reason, without it, tank could reach 90 if the home AC was off ( which it will be, if Im not the last person to leave our home on any given day)
having a FOWLR for 15 months before going reef, had prepared me for the potential highs
thus I knew I would need the chiller if I was going to be able to keep most corals for long periods

Last major purchase was an Eheim 1262 pump for my return. I mostly looked at the reviews foe various pumps on the Marine Depot site and reviewed the specs for different pumps.

Just bought the Apex... I used peoples opinions here on neptune systems and marine depot reviews. I'm going to have to send mine back though.. I think I got a dud.

My last major purchase was an ecotech MP10 which nobody had reviewed at the time. The basis for my purchase was the feature set and reputation the company had through there earlier models.

Last major purchase was an octo extreme 300. It was based on the reputation octopus has, reviews off retailers site and reviews on forums. My next major purchase is 2 vortech mp40 gen2 because of reviews and its versitility with its variable, controllable mega flow and I hear the customer service is pretty top notch.

My last major purchase was a geo 612 calcium reactor. What influenced me to buy this reactor was what other people was saying about it and reviews I've read on this and other forums, by the way it's a great reactor.
