Please help! I have had my net module for two weeks now and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to access my net outside of my home network. I have tried to port forwarding which is very confusing on my Mac. I have set incoming port and private port as 80. And entered my net module IP address under the firewall settings in my belkin router setup. What do I do to access my system outside my home network? I can get on the ireef app but again only in my home network. Please help me figure this out!

I am FAR FAR FAR from an expert on this, but I can tell you with the APEX controller that I have, I had to do a few things....1) I set the port to something other than 80...as 80 is a pretty common port in the internet works apparently...I used 9000 for mine. I also had to set up an account with Dyn DNS to deal with the fact that the Ip address that AT&T assigns to my DSL modem is subject to change. Dyn Manages that IP adress and sends the updated address to my dyn host name so that my out of network connection works all the time. It was actually pretty easy to set up..the instructions on dyn.com are pretty good...and I am a sales guy...not a tech guy. There is a great document on the internet (search 3 reef for the link, I know it is out there) on setting this up with the APEX. I bet a lot of the network set up is the same between APEX and REEF Keeper

+1.....I'm a network guy by trade and thats some good advise. Short of getting a static ip, dyn dns is the way to go. Most of the cable companies are offering static IP now for home use with out having to upgrade to an expensive business account. At least here in central florida they are.

Thanks! :) And agree that it is not expensive. My Dyn account is $20 for a year and you can have upto 20 host names I think...So I use one for my apex and one for a web cam. Its pretty cool.

Dyndns.org is free set that up and make sure your router updates the client.
