Is the alk 3.6 meq or dKH. If dKH you need to get it between 8 and 12, if meq you are in the range for dKH. Buy granulated ferric oxide and run it in your sump or some compartment that you can force the flow through the GFO. Lights out for 6 to 7 days and cover the tank so no ambient light gets in.

Definately looks like Dino's to me. I had them in my Pico. The bubbles will pull up the strings like flying a balloon. I did 2 partial water changes a week, knocked them off with a brush, and harvested them out of the water with a net. I also stirred up the sand in small sections to release nitrogen bubbles. They grow Extremely fast. I just kept doing this, and within a few weeks it ran it's course. Good Luck. BTW this happened after I boiled my rocks, so I dont think that is a fix.

I wouldnt worry about corals if no lights for a few days.. I would manually remove that algae, 25%+ water change (high nitrates), run phosphate remover & carbon, add powerhead, feed every other day. and look into putting some macro algae into DT down the road.. will help sucks up nitrates.

A macro algae of one sort is always beneficial in a DT. If it starts growing rampant, it's a good thing- it means it's absorbing the phosphates and nitrates that would otherwise be feeding those nuissance algaes. Only difference is that macro algaes can be cropped and maintained much easier.
I personally of some halimeda macro in my tank Which doesn't look to bad and I remove 1/3 of it every water change and keeps the cyano/hair algae problem that I used to have in check.
