I hate the suction cup on my thermometer. It never holds. The thermometer inevitably breaks loose, floats to the surface, bobs around in the flow banging up against the glass. It eventually makes its way to a corner or behind the overflow box.

I want to replace the suction cup with a simple pair of magnets but I have yet to find a suitable. I like the simple "mercury" style thermometers. They are accurate and cheap. Anybody find something that does the job I'm looking for?

I use the digital thermometer by coralife and the probe on that just floats in the current, but i'm happy with it.

Walmart sell them cheap aquarium cleaning magnets for about $6. Get one of them and wire tie the thermometer to it. Should work fine

Just one of those things that just gets under your skin after a while.

I don't want to superglue it because coraline grown on the thermometer like crazy. I'm constantly scraping it off.

I've heard that the coraline digital thermometers are notoriously inaccurate.

i have a cheap small sticker thermometor on the side and a digital with a lead running down behind my rock.. between the two of those im sure there is enough accuracy and i have no problems.

that's what I've heard also but my digital has always been accurate. I keep a glass one in the sump so I can check.
I'm not sure why people say that. must be some people got ones that where off, but the last 3 Ive had have always been dead on.
