i considered getting a skimmer. PROBLEM IS..

    I can't tell by the pic but is your return pump in a separate compartment so the water level stays the same in your sump?

    Well, the idea is to cut it out at a point that isn't bearing a load (or has other support that can handle the load).

    no, they are all in the same place. the water stays the same all the time because of the amount the water the pump is taking out and the water is falling in.

    i can raise the water level, but not higher than the filter pads because then they wouldnt really do their job. and things will get messy.

    I called my LFS, and they are coming on WED..to check things out. im giving them to read this conversations and they will see what they do.
    If they redo my Plumbing or stuff like that. Thanks a lot guys for the ideas.;D

    you might want to add a baffle before the return pump or your skimmer will always be needing adjustment due to evaporation. just thought i would throw that out there.

    mine sits in the first higher level..that way you do not get any drop or riseing and your skimmer will stay better adjusted
    I built a stand out of egg grate instead of this tub you see
