Hi everyone, i got this coral almost a month ago for free. I cant remember what it was called so i am having trouble finding specific info on how to care for it. I am noticing it is slowly wasteing away....the green neon stuff is breaking down and the LR is showing under. What can i do the nurse it back to health? What is it??

    Thanks

The stuff underneath is its skeleton, not LR.
Looks kind of like a cut from a maze brain, but I'm probably wrong.

Do an iodine dip and spot feed it with mysis.

The coral is from the Faviid family.

Please list your water parameters, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, alk, calcium and magnesium. List your SG and temp also please.

It may have another corall near it that is stinging it?
No offense, but perhaps the reason it was free was because it was sickly?

The iodine works the same way on coral as us, it cleans the area. Buy some tincture of iodine from a drugstore and add 15 to 20 drops per liter or tank water. Dip for 10 minutes and then rinse in another liter of tank water.

anyone know the cause for the decay?? it was much healthier when i got it. should it be under high intensity light or low light? high flow? how does it eat mysis? just lay some on it? it doesnt appear to have polyps or an opening where food goes in....
