calm down and dont sweat feeding it rite now as i most likely wont eat anyway try moving it to a more shaded area and when it heals u will see tentacles and all will be well they are sensitive to light and need time to adjust so start from shade and move up

ohh....i had it placed close to 3 different types of zoas.... could they be stinging it?? How about a Long tentacle anemone sting it?? I moved it to a lower level in my tank and put it in a higher flow area. will there be a problem with it being close to a pagoda cup coral or some Xenia??

Good move and it is definitely from the Faviid family. It could be a goniastrea or something like that.

Growth depends on how much nutrients you have in the water. If you have a SPS dominant tank with very low nutrients then they grow slowly. If you have an LPS/softies tank with higher nutrients then it will grow faster.

yeah i have almost all softies...just got a cup coral and this chalice/favia (whichever)

it was said earlier in the post it could have been stung by another coral. will my zoas sting it?? the place i moved it to has a large LTA close by and my cup coral and Xenia is close too. NONE touch it but i dont know how much room it needs

Move it away from the LTA and cup coral. The zoas and Xenia will be more likely to overgrow the coral that sting it.

Well i have come to realize this coral is not gonna make it.....I did what you guys suggested and its still wasting away. My other coral that was also stuggling was a pagoda cup... has shown signs of improvement. The favid or chalice whatever it is that i have has become half the size it originally was leaving behind a skeleton. its in a well shaded area with moderate flow.

    My water tested today at 77deg F, 1.025 SG, ph=8.2 ammonia,nitrate,nitrite,phos=0 cal =440 dKh=10 mag=1300

i believe i have maybe 1 or 2 days left before its completly gone :(

any other suggestions i really want to save it if possible. Would it have a better chance in my fuge under my 6500K 20W CFL???
