I bought this piece of live rock a couple of months ago.As time went by the coral bloom started.Ive identified the mushroom and the polyps,however I still can't put a label on the other coral.At first it looked like a sponge,it had the egg sack look,but over the last week it it changed a lot it was no longer transparent.I looked and looked on the web... but can I.D it.About a week ago someone told me it might be a leather coral...but wasn't 100% sure about it.Can anyone out there shine some light on me...please...Thanks!!!

Considering all the lousy hitchhikers that usually come on live rock, you seem to have made out pretty darn well.

Someone likely ripped the mother off this rock. Not knowing leathers will regrow from the tinest of pieces left behind. Doesn't matter what part it comes from. foot, stem, or crown.

Look at my avatar, I removed and sold my toadstool and ended up with 15 frags from the pieces she left behind.
