Well said! Im glad that trying it again reconsidered dosing vodka. Im not crazy about dosing vodka, at least when it comes to my tank.;D Luna

 

I remember reading (I believe it was here) where someone had gotten blood poisoning from a cut received working around live rock in a dosed aquarium.


If I am going to give myself blood poisoning from vodka, it will be through a more conventional means of delivery! ;D

 

Vodka. Are you talking about the yummy drunken-fun-inducing beverage generally considered as being from Russia? Or is that a brand name for something else?

And if it is the alcohol - seriously? People give that to their reefs?

 

Yep. Smirnoff, grey goose, you pick. Causes binding with nitrates that basically turns nitrates into food for your filter feeders.
I dont do it though. The aquarium already has enough of its food in my freezer. Its not getting our vodka

 

Grey goose!? That would be some expensive dosing. I think I'd stick with the el-cheapo stuff If i were crazy enough to put vodka in my tank.

 

Why? You don't think your fish have as good a taste as you do? ;D

 

+1, and besides, the fish get what, a couple tsp's max? Where do you think the rest is going to go?

 

When I go out and spend a couple hundred dollars on coral, my wife needs every last teaspoon she can get. (my wife gave me permission to say that)... and no, im not whipped... i don't think (I wear the pants in my relationship)... my wife also gave me permission to say that.
