    It sounds like what I call a shellless snail. It looks like a snail but only has a tiny sliver of shell? They are great. Will reproduce fast, but will keep themselves in check.

    Could be a stomatella, but they do not move very fast. I would keep trying to identify it based on that alone.

    A picture would do wonders for an ID.

    stomatella don't have a hairy body. Don't know where you got that from, unless it was an Italian stomatella that you saw... heheeeheeee (no offense to those italians (or italian stomatella snails) out there)

    the stomatella in my tanks move fairly quick compared to other snails in my tank. They have 2 rather long feelers and a mottled brown-white shell
