does he have a good hiding place in the tank? my foxface has stayed in"cammo" mode for a few days at a time until i realised he had no place to hide/sleep and was doin it in the daytime instead. if its not that i'd say the noise from equipment is buggng him or theres some stray current in there. is it possible to remove some of the equipment?

I have kept Fox Faces through out the years and from my experience it always indicates that it is perturbed or annoyed by something. A lot of times it was PH (low) and/or Alkalinity (low). I would use the Fox as an indicator (lazy back then) of my Alk or PH being off.

I have Three Fox Faces in my tank now and i would be more concerned about the brown spotting around the facial area than the body region. I've never seen this type coloration. Mine always turn back to bright yellow and on the face in the white section is always bright white. Interesting issue??????

well i checked PH and it seems fine.. its 8.4

and he does have hiding spots.

i only have 2 powerheads in the tank but then again, he was in cammo mode way before i added them. ( i changed my heater but again he was in cammo before that aswell)

now im starting to wonder if he has some sort of parasite that i cant see.

hmmm. how often do your hands go in the tank? so much easier to say than do, but maybe he just needs a few weeks without hands in the tank?

ive found their camo mode to look more motled. greyish white blended together. i notice your "1" spot is like mine , more of a smudge. but as far as the white is, as said before, could just be its coloration. threw in a pic of mine with the smudge.

what else is in the tank? does he have any buddies? mine follows my sialfin all around the tank and seems lost when he can't find him. i just searched some other sites for unhappy foxfaces and one thing that keeps coming up is that they are happier with other grazers in the tank
