Time to stock up. 2+ years ago I bought all of the salt from a fish store going out of business on the cheap. I think I paid $20 for 150 gal of mix. I'm finally down to my last 200 gal. So now I'm spoiled and still cheap. (This said as dumb dumb over here is finishing up a 300 gal reef. :tongue4:)

Sooo, does anyone know where to get salt cheap? I'm not a real salt snob so I'm pretty flexable on brand. I just like to stay consistant once I'm using it. I'm OK with buying a lot if the price is right. Maybe some sort of Chicago area group buy if anyone knows how to coordinate it? Any ideas spring to mind?

    Oh, I'm currently running Seachem.

You might try one of those dome shaped building by the highway. I understand they have salt by the ton there! :yelrotflm

    Happy Holiday!

:) Why didn't I think of that. Between all the tanks, it might last for a week or 2.

My suggestion is to see if you can get some other Reekeepers interesting in ordering a Pallet of 36..... Kent 200 gallon bucket of Marine Salt. Price $35.99 each and Free shipping on a pallet of 36 buckets from http://www.customaquatic.com/customaquatic/subsubcategorypage.asp?subcatindexid=sl-sl-sl
Or if you are rich and you just want to stalk up you could buy all 36 for $1332.00. Lucky for me this is local and I can go and pick up

Also might want to check this review

I would think you best bet would be to try reefcentral to find some to split it.

Yeah, that is probably a better bet. I tend not to post to much there just because it is huge. In this case, huge is probably bette.
