As a few of you know, i just got a 20gal that Im going to move my 12 gal buddies to. It came with live rock and Sand and Im still taking precautions and waiting for it to cycle. I just picked up a small piece of rock (about 4inches in length) And i thought there was (under the algae that the former owner had allowed to take over the tank) a smaller rock or shell stuck to the rock. When i touched it with my finger it was kinda squishy, A little hard (like a thin shell but not quite) and i gently wiped away the algae and it was this greyish little thind a wee bit bigger than a pencil eraser. And then at secong glance there was another one, the second a little more white and kinda shrivled looking, but still kinda squishy. Can any one help Id them? Are they Coral? I apologize for the picture, im gonna try to get a better one.

You can see its kinda got this "stem" making it into a teardrop shape with a flat top to it.

It was actually buried in the sand, the guy had stirred everything up when he took it down so im not sure how the little guys were originally. They were pretty much coated with algae, Then again the whole tank and everything in it was covered.

It does kinda look like a closed Brown Button Polyp.
This may help. Nevermind the difference in color in comparison to yours.

Hey, Yeah! It looks alot like the little nubby looking ones, the closed ones. If they are, does the white/grey color mean they're dying?! What should i do for them?

Get them into some light. They are very resilient. Shouldn't have any problems bringing them back. Let us know if they open up.:)

Thank you so much. Im so excited now. Put them up on top of another rock so they will be closer to the light. So, i shouldnt worry about the color then? What about the withered appearance of the other one? One does look like it may be ok, just kinda grey, but the other is white and quite shriveled.
