    it actually works very well. it compensates for temperature and takes only 2-3 seconds to get results. just put a drop of the sample water over the lens and push "read." to calibrate all you need to do is use distilled water to zero it out.... easy and simple

    There is a Hanna handheld phosphate checker for about 50 dollars that you will love also. Very accurate.

    I use one of those too...awesome is right! I use daily and it's always spot on...I periodically check it with 30ppt solution and it's never off...been using it for over a year and it still has 93% battery left...one of the best $100 I ever spent.
