Just dont keep SPS. I dont have issues with light and I'm running 4 t5's. But i do change out bulbs and make sure I have the best output PAR bulbs i can get. As for LPS, they are more colorful anyway.

Not sure what you're wanting from everyone here since you don't want any advice...

For sure, I was PMed this by him
first off, Its not up to you if there is tank of the month. its up to the mods.

2nd. Poll results indicate more for than against.

3rd. The reason for the answer bashing is the fact that there is no reason behind it. If somone brings a an idea to the table, than just review it, post pros and cons of it and leave it to the mods. People wernt doing that. As a matter of fact it seemed like the more these negative comments where posted it persuaded more people to follow suit. Notice how many people where for it when the thread was opened, then by the end of it, it was the opposite because of FEEDBACK of the NAY sayers. THATS MY POINT.

Banthony, as I told you in a previous thread- it's not up to you how well your critters do in the respect of the tank itself, it's what is in the water that matters, then lighting, then homes (rock scape) for your critters, and also making sure the critters are compatible.

You can do this- just like the rest of us, there really is no secret to it. But you must learn patience, and as I told you, with SPS- they require Halides or very HO LED- persoanlly, I feel Halides are the best.

Yes you can use T5 ( I use them- with sucess), but, you need a lot of them that are pretty close to the water surface to even come close to what halides can do. All this is hyperbole, like I told you before IMHO T5/Halide is the best one can get with in a reasonable cost range, yet what are you running?

I really feel for you, and I think you can do this and make it work for you, but as Powerman stated- leave it be- place it correctly from the start and wait-have patience- hell it took God 6 days (what ever that means) to create what we know, but ya know what he did on day seven- he chilled- and so too should you.

Go with a softie/fish reef set up, get your water stable, and then in a year or so, consider SPS- but only when you can go to the correct lighting.

A cheap way to do this- but can cause algae growth- is placing your tank at a window- let mother nature give you the light for free.

But this is another topic, One I would be happy to discuss with you, and it has it's pros, and it's cons. But it works- and gives BETTER shimmer then Halides, and even more PAR then ANY halide made- when done right.

Till then keep trying- the reward is in the effort you put forth- nothing good comes easy- nothing.

That is sooooo true shushigirl! Just last month Joyfulness was the character trait of the month at my martial arts class. If you keep a positive outlook and model your behavior, you emotions line up with it. You will be more successful as a reefer with a better behavior and good attitude!

I agree 100% but here is my issue. or options. either give it up all together or get a bigger tank with my sump back running. problem is, I dont have money for the upgrades unless I sell my equipment which would mean selling my livestock in order to keep it alive through the process.

I already have a 72 bow but I need a stand, the tank drilled, skimmer, upgrade to a longer fixture. So I figure the only way to stay in this is to sell everything, save the money, add that with some more manoey then start over.

Other option is let the tank be asd I have no problem keeping LPS, but I much rather be able to keep a bigger tank with less maintenace and keep SPS.
