So about two weeks ago I received a text out of nowhere from this lady claiming to be from Lockheed Martin and she wanted me to go to an interview. I was a little cautious since the text msg was my first contact from them but a week later they were paying for my airfare to Washington D.C. and my hotel (a very nice Marriot). I get in the job interview and they say "Well all we can tell you about the job is you need security clearance for us to tell you anything specific but it does involve working on satellites." At this point I was super excited, working on satellites and spacecraft is my dream, and then add in having to get security clearance and that's just a winning combination. I get back home and three days later I get a call from the hiring manager saying that he was so impressed with my interview that he didn't want to wait to tell me that I got the job! So now as soon as I graduate this may with my Bachelor's, I'm moving out to D.C. They said the few months leading up to then will be me getting my security clearance and doing interviews and probably a polygraph with various agents. I can't wait to start now, just have to keep up the motivation to actually keep doing school work now.

You have no idea. I'm currently in New Mexico right now at a nano satellite competion for my university, so hopefully that goes well too. In a weird chance of fate, Washington D.C. is also where my gf is going to grad school at the end of this semester.

More like more money for a bigger tank :). First thing first though is to get a place to live and actually get that paycheck.

I'm an aerospace engineer with an emphasis on the orbital mechanics/spacecraft design.

That's a lot cooler than I expected. I'm just computer science, though I could end up working on stuff like that if I got extremely lucky.
