Congrats! Security clearance sucks. They know stuff you wouldn't think anyone knew. My Hubby is an Aerospace engineer as well. But security clearance is pretty intense.

Thanks, I'll definitely take you up on that offer when I get out there. The actual job site is in Lorton, VA. But I hear that's only about 30-45 min away depending on traffic.

Well, I know this thread a few months old but I finally started work this past Monday. It was a little nerve racking bc they never would actually tell me where to go up until about 4 days before I started. This week is just the boring new employee stuff that every business has but next week the fun begins. I lucked out and the apt I found is only a 10 min drive away. Another cool thing is they are all about their employees felling comfortable so sites like facebook and 3reef are completely allowed, as long as you continue to get work done.

Very cool. My wife is from Woodbridge.

Professional businesses can't avoid social media. It's become part of the work environment. I work for NASA and we have an employee who manages and updates our particular site Facebook page throughout the day.

Congrats on an awesome job opportunity. It's great to hear the stories about people going straight out of school and into a field where they had hoped to land.

Engineers are in demand but, depending on your branch, it can be difficult to land a job. I know a few EE that took over a year to find a decent job. PE and ME are pretty decent right now, though.
