That is quite a find! Bob is a cool name for your mantis. Bob, the puncher. :)

Sorry to be the bearer of maybe not so nice news, but your mantis is not a peacock (O. scyllarus). It lacks the leopard spots on the sides of the carapace, that is the distinguishing feature of O. scyllarus.

The red inter-segmented lines suggest that it is a Gonodactylaceus ternatensis, although it could also be a Gonodactylus smithii. It is easy enough to distinguish between the two if you can get it to give you a meral spread. If it has purple meral spots it is a smithii, orange means its a ternatensis. Either way don't be too disappointed both species are very cool dudes.

A 40 breeder is a mansion to a peacock. 25 gal is a minimum tank size, 30 is better. 15 gal is too small for an adult peacock, and they are capable of breaking thin glass aquariums such as 10-20 gal tanks. This is one of the few species capable. It should be the law as far as I am concerned. If there can be tang police why can't there be peacock police. ;D

Also you are either over estimating your smithii's size or it is not a smithii. They max around 3.5". Might want to take measurements and pictures and send them to Dr. Roy if it really is that large.
