Awesome! Congrats on the purchase! Is it the 130? Or is the 250 out yet?

General rule of thumb(GRT) is 1 lb of LR per gal of water. So if you have a 34g tank, you should have at least 34lbs of LR. Luna

ok on the bubbles.. I'm going to assume that it is a 34.. Mainly because I have one and went throught the same thing.. Couple Questions.

Are you using the bio bag that they give you with the white porcalin like O's in it?
Are you using the stock black sponge?
    Is your skimmer running?

While I have since set up a 120 my 34 RS is still up and running and has been for about a year. I love the clean look of the tank with the rounded corners.. Very nice tank.

ok back to the bubbles.... Here is what I did and maybe it will work for you.

Take out the bag with the porcalin O's/Rocks it in and throw it in the trash. The live rock you put in will take care of your biological.

The black filter sponge is too think.. I took mine out (Could cut it in half top to bottom)and went out and bought white filter sponge (maybe 2in think --- The one that is in there is more like 4in thick) When you put this back in push it all the way down to the bottom of the compartment on the right. If you plan to run any carbon place that down in to the column on the left between the protine skimmer and the seperation wall for your heater.

I found when too much was in that first compartment it caused flow issues.

I have about 37lbs of rock in my tank.

    Hope this helps..

I hate to call them a bag of o's but that was the best way to describe them. ;D They are really like bio balls in a sump. They do serve a purpose but the rock you put in will do the samething.. If you put in less rock then recomended then I would say these would be important. with 34-37 lbs of rock though you'll be fine with out them.

You should be fine if you cut the sponge in half ( Ie keeping the width the same just making in shorter from top to bottom) The only reason I bought new was incase my trial and error did not work then I could go back to the origional set up.

    Another pointer:

If your water level drops it will blow bubbles out to. I leave the gate on the overflow opening all the way down.. (more flow) As the water evaporates and goes down or your filter sponge gets clogged, the pumps (all the way on the left side of the tank) get deprived of water and will blow bubbles. If this happens turn off one pump while you address the issue (add water or clean sponge) and then turn it back on after you're done.

Good Luck with it.. Now that I have my 120 I'm trying to decide what I'm going to do with mine. May be a fish only or a frag tank- have not decided yet.
