Glad to hear that you got a QT tank and your taking the time to treat this. I know it is hard and results are slow but it is worth the investment now and in the future. At least now, you will be able to QT pretty much everything you get for a few weeks before it goes in your DT. That way you won't be having to deal with this again. Keep us updated and hope all goes well!

My yellow tang died over night in QT. My clown fish is dying. Not sure what's wrong. Water levels are good. Just tested yesterday and this morning. I don't have a filter on QT but have air stone and a power head. Put a new heater in yesterday. Checked for cracks and didn't see any.
Ugh. Feel like stressed from being in QT.
    Any ideas?

Yes. And did a small waterchange yesterday. Today ammonia was .25 and assumed cause of dead fish in tank.
I pulled heater out and clown fish acted normal. Brand new heater and when I put it in yesterday and warming up sounded like crackling.

No filtration because treating for ich. Air stone and power head to airate water.
Doing water changes every 3 days to manage water levels. Cupramine is what in using. Took a sponge out if my filter and stuffed in a piece of PVC so has the bio help.
Also tested for copper and it's fine.
    Bought a new heater.
When ich is gone I'll add a filter for a true QT. Just sad to lose a fish. My kids named him Dave

You can use an old HOB filter ie.whisper ,aquaclear or marineland one and put that sponge along with a couple pieces of LR from your DT in it to serve as a filter..Even scoop some sand from your DT and put it in the QT
