i got my L/R

    well i got my Live rock today scrubed of what i thought was bad and left what i thought wasn't. So i know what do i need to look for while cycling should i scrub off dead organismns that die during cyycling or leave them? here are some pics and how i set it up in my tank any better setup ideas would be much appreciated... there is approximatly 60 lbs of L/r there and i am going to order more in the future but i am going to work with this for now

    Looks good to me. You did good by scrubbing them off. Okay to answer your questions. Don't remove the rock from the tank and don't worry about removing any dead stuff...unless it's a big item. You want the die off to happen, this will cause the cycle. From time to time I would blow off the rock while it's in the water with a new turkey baster. Buy a turkey baster for your tank. During cycle blow the rock to remove detritus. I will advise you, that during your future water changes do this to the liverock. If you don't detritus will buildup and then your nitrates may rise. DON'T do water changes during cycling. This is the time for you to do your research and planning. I would also suggest you test your water every few days. You will probably see nothing at first but within time the ammonia will rise, then it will drop, then the nitrites will rise, then drop, then the nirates will rise and then drop.
    I would wait a few weeks after the cycle before adding anything. Then add your cleaning crew. Remember to never add more than one fish at a time. The tank can't handle a high bioload yet. Good luck and have fun. Go slowly.

    ok thanks, i do have a turkey baster for my tank already.... bu tit is weird my nitrits are going up and my amonmia isnt bu ti will wait a day or so then check again thanks for the help
