I am beginning to have a bit of a cyano problem in my tank. There is some building up in certain spts of the tank. I already added a larger CUC, but that only helped a little.
I can not test my water now, but I will test the params once I do.
What can I do to try to get rid of cyano?
    Thanks

Skim wet, decrease your feedings, increase flow, use GFO, wait.

GFO. I had a bad case of Cyano, and the only thing that worked was adding GFO. I use a Whisper 40 power filter on my 20g, and put both GFO and carbon in my mesh bag. Works great. After 3 weeks I had no sign of cyano, and 3+ months later, still nothing.

Do you continue use of GFO once the cyano goes away?
Also what if I use GFP and my phosphates are not high?
    Is it completely reef safe?
    Thanks

gfo and try to reposition your powerheads a little bit to help disrupt the water in those areas

? are you running a fuge if so what worked for me was i ran a lower kalvin lamp on it to in a attempt to keep it there becose there is some slow flow areas in my tank due to a couple inhabitance dont like high flow

I run GFO all of the time. So yes, once the cyano goes away keep running it.
I don't know what GFP is, but I'd guess it Granulated Ferric Pellets. If so, I'd run it no matter what the phosphate level is. You can test for phosphate and get a value of zero, but if you have nuisance algae growth (especially cyano), you can be assured you have phosphate in you tank. The algae can absorb it as it's produced, giving you a false zero.
GFO is completely reef safe. Just make sure to start at a lower dosage than what is recommended (usually 1/3 to 1/2 the recommended dosage). You don't want to shock any corals (if you have them) with a quick lowering of your phosphate level.

    Thanks so much, Reeron.
The GFP was supposed to be GFO...LOL, typo
So should I run the GFO even if I dont have a high phosphate level?

    I would.
Actually, I do. Nothing like keeping phosphate at near zero levels.

    Ok, great
So I just put the GFO in a filter bag...?
