your lighting is far from being too intense, i run a 150w HQI on my 10 gallon and my corals are fine, been that way for months with good solid growth/color. i am also wondering how old are your bulbs, can you get a few pictures of everything so we know what were looking at?

Why would I have a major cycle in this tank when the LR I am using is all from the existign tank- the only change is the sand is new.

New Sand... Did you buy live sand..?? Have any die-off from live rock, or sand..??
I'm sure someone that knows better then I, will tell you about that.. You would need a good Bacteria (sp) build up..

    But about your color problem..
I'm having the same problem, but with my Candycanes..
I have 260 watts over a 55 gal.. Corals are doing really good, But my color is way off..??

I have been thinking about getting different type of lighting.. But not sure thats the problem..
I have bought 2 different sets of neon greens.. Both show up a maroonish brown color..
2 sets of light green, both show up a light pinkish color.. Not bleaching, just shows that color.. Maybe someone with PC lights that have good color will chime in..

It seems to me, that befor I even removed mine from the bag and placed them in my tank, they had already changed color..
Maybe it's a stress thing, even tho one set of mine have been in my tank over a month and still not the right color..

Keep us posted if you find out what your problem is, or if anyone else has been thru something like this...

    Good Luck, Larry

I talked with my LFS today.. She said it could be the brand of salt I used..??
That different salts have different trace elements..
I need to change some water in the next 2 weeks, she said for my to try a different brand of salt.. That I will do.. I think I read where they made a special salt just for reef tanks..??

    I'll let you know, Larry
