Ok i have a blue damselfish and a maroon clownfish. I think one of them is a killer :bigcry: Last weekend i picked up a firefish and with in 2 days it was dead lots of bit mark's and a fine or 2 missing. Then over this past weekend i pickup a sixline wrasse and overnight the same thing. My clown is 3in long and the blue is 2in. The sixline was 1/12in long, ans the firefish 2in i have a banded coral shrimp, and some mushrooms.Tank is a 75g and running for 3 months. I'm thinking its the clown but what do you guy's think

I say its the mushrooms, they pack a punch!

Well i have heard from some people that clown can be very territorial and I have personally seen that some damsels are plain EVIL; I had a cocoa damsel that tried to bite anything that came into his line of sight let alone his territory. If I had to choose I would say damsel.

My uncle currently has a cocoa damsel and this fish picks up snails by their shell and slams them into the tank glass and waits for the snail to come out and eats it.

It's the damsel. Was the damsel the first fish put into the tank?

I'd guess Both the Damsel or the Clown. Maroon Clowns can be worse than Damsels when it comes to territory.
I'm afraid both are very aggressive fish.

It is probably both and I will bet you that the maroon was the instigator. Clowns are aggressive and maroons are the worst of the bunch. I had my Ocellaris clowns beat up on a damsel in my nano. They would chase him into the rock and the dottyback would chase him out. Over and over. I had to remove him before he was killed. So I think it is a coordinated attack with the maroon clown starting it and the damsel playing backup.

I'd put money on the damsel in that size of tank. Clowns are typically more territorial when it's a smaller tank due to thier smaller "personal" space. The damsel is more likely the cause because of their much larger niche imho and experience. Clown's usually just don't tolerate when anything is near their anemone or pseudoanemone.

+1. I have a blue damsel and a yellow tail. My ocellaris pair own those two. Clowns are tough, tough fish.
But I never said that you actually have seen this happening? What are your params? It is possible the fish have died from another cause then being picked at afterwards, also.

+1 maroon definetaly more aggressive and dominant then any comparably sized damsel
in the wild maroons can take down predator fish like lionfish.
