I have always wanted to know....

Why is their not a manufacture that makes lighting, protein skimmers, dosing pumps, and other equipment, so everything matches. To me not only do you want a nice tank itself but the over all appearance matters also, which is taken away when you have all sorts of different colored equipment and brands. I would rather have one brand that is good that makes all of the basics so the over all appearance is not taken away. How do you guys feel about this?

I think that would be cool, that way if you really like a company you can support that company even more. It may happen eventually to be honest. Some company known for light might be working on skimmers, pumps, overflows, etc...

 

Haha that would be awesome, but lets face it highly unlikely.

 

I hope because I think to have a nice reef you also need a nice overall appearance.

 

Actually Reef Octopus makes skimmers, lighting and reactors, and even pumps; but the only problem is they dont sell that stuff here in the US that I am aware of, and I really like Reef Octopus products.

 

BashSea makes fuges, skimmers,calcium reactors, media reactors, denitrators, and tanks (not red or blue, the tanks) to match, either red or blue

some manufacturers specialise in just equipment and dont make the tanks, stands etc
in most cases IME , when a company does this, what they do make is consistent in terms of appearance (branding)
Reef octopus seem to have already considered this aspect and now have tanks and cabinets on their site - problem is the stand and the canopy are bright red, the same colour as they used on their skimmers etc - which for most of us, would not be a colour scheme we would want

for me, if its going into the sump and not on full view, then I would get the product I wanted , rather than try and theme the set up

Thier stand looked more of a stained red to me not bright red, but if the brand is good, why not support it and buy all thier products, if that means red than so be it, id rather have all red than red, black, green, blue, or w/e color they are, chances are if you have all them colors its not going to look good anyhow.
