I have no clue what this is.....

    So my tank is probably in its at least 6th week of cycle. I just recently purchased 3 pounds of live rock to finally have enough pounds in my tank. Something is sitting at the bottom of the liverock and has been there ever since i got it. I never noticed it when I put the rock in. It just appeared last week and has not moved. It started off as almost a rough texture (looks like a sand paper texture) and it was dark blue/purple. Now it has turned real light blue almost white. What could this be???

    Im just not sure if something is rotting and decaying or if something is growing. i have no clue what it is.
