I have the strange urge for a nitro rc boat.

even worse is when you show out in front of your friends and bury your plane a foot in the ground and we don't want to get started on the money wasted on helicopters. the car is definitely the safer way to go, but they can get wild too.

Why would you bury your plane a foot in the ground?

I have been in the RC world for years going back to the Tamia Grasshopper. Oh, that brings back memories. You think marine aquariums are expensive, you have no idea in the RC world. I still have a 1/10 onroad & 1/8 scale offroad buggy nitros.

Nitro in the boat world I wouldn't. They are too probmatic & get a dingy to go fetch it when it stalls. As a beginner, I would go electric with a brushless setup. Insaine power for a lot less money. Want to go crazy, go with a gas setup. They use modded weadwacker engines. The only thing I can't stress enough. Get a VERY good controller & servos!!

    Enjoy.. :)

I agree I love the smell of nitro, but brushless is insaine power that nitro can't compare. He's a quick video of a RC boat with brushless motor doing 98.7MPH.

LOL, it happens man, it just happens sometimes!

Get a dingy for when it stall's? why, I have always used a reall heavy duty fishing pole with some 30 lb test line and a big orange rubber ball tied to the end.

I got so good I could get it with no more that 2 casts and drag it back to me no matter where in the pond it was. never had a problem.

It got to the point were everyone was asking to borrow my set up so I bought 2 more used rod's and reels so we had one at both ends of the pond that I ran at.

LOL.. Ah, too much work.. I would just get a RTS (return to shore) setup or have another cheap boat used for a tow setup to go fetch it.. ;)

I love my tmaxx, did the 2.5r swap. Just recently tried a brushless jato, lots of fun too...
