Might as well get all my problems out on the table...

Something that didn't look too bad when it started... but as it's getting bigger, I'm not sure...

    Anyone know what this is?

    Thanks!

FYI - I haven't tried to remove or otherwise disturb... except to take a stick and push on it to see if it was rigid/soft/etc. It is firm and pliable.

It looks like an algae I've seen for sale before...the name escapes me though...Ugo or something like that?

Although, I'm unaware of any algae (non-coralline) that is hard.

edit - ...it looks like candlewax :p

Jason- Wow... I've read a bunch of the info on the link... THANKS! Now I'm just trying to figure out if it's going to become a problem... It's in 2 different areas. I guess if it gets out of hand I should cut it back??? Not sure what to do with it.

I'd keep it. many times I've had some red Algae in the tank. I like it and it is beneficial. Most times it dies out as nitrate levels are eliminated

OK... I'll keep an eye on it and see how it goes.

    Thanks for the help!

If it does ever get out of hand you can always trim it. I know people with Refugiums would pay money for some of it
