Gotta love the place, with over thousand posts there, they still question *if* I exist ;)

    Thanks Shawn :D

You should have seen the email exchange between a couple of their mods and I. I came home to a rude PM with threats of bannation due to me supposedly working for a wholesaler in LA and posting a self serving commercial post. Yup, I commute 12 hours a day and work 12. I know am I hard worker and devoted employee, but geez, I do need to sleep :D They probably think I just do that on the weekends.

Yeah we need to at least get the review section revived. The software is cool but people have not been posting on it since the rebuild. Also I think a section of "How To's" section would be cool. A clear uncluttered layout of like "How to Frag and mount SPS", "How to build a Coiled Denitrate Reactor", and the like. The forums are cool but when there is a clear useful project they kinda get muddled up in the hundred odd of topic posts. Something kinda like GARF's How to videos. I think it would fit in to the "3 steps" theme here. Just a thought.

For newbies like myself, a "how-to" section is a great idea! My two cents worth, for what its worth.

From my perspective, one of the most endearing qualities of 3Reef is the very nature of the place. We have a quite unique balance of 'content', general good advice and friendliness and it's that mixture that I think makes 3Reef so much better than places like RC.

Now I haven't posted or even visited RC for at least a couple of years, and certainly have no intention of going back there again any time soon. IMHO, it has always been a very confrontational place, where most people are too frightened to express an opinion for fear of being shouted down by psuedo experts who are more interested in defending their opinions than discussing their reasons.

Want DATA? Go to RC! Want vigourous discussion and good explanations? Stay here!
    :) :)

I've had the pleasure of knowing Matt for only a relatively short time, but I am sure that if you have some suggestions that he would be only too happy to hear from you all.

In fact you should post your comments here: http://www.3reef.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=242 in the 3reef Forum News & Information section.

I agree with you , John!

While I do still go to RC, it is only because that is where my Local Reef Club folks hook up and chat.... ;D (working on that! LOL)

But when folks outside our group chime in it can get really ugly really fast!

    I love it here!
When I am wrong, and someone calls me on it (ever so gently, mind you), it's cool! We can all learn something! I have no problem saying, 'hey I didn't think of that, or I did not know that'! It's all gooooood! ;D
