I feel your pain bro. My tank has been doing AWESOME for the longest, but lately, my TS, Finger Leather, Green Monti and some of my GSP are dying little by little. Go figure huh? Your water flow issue is shared by many, if not all of us. Sometimes it takes time to find the right arrangement, but you will. Have fun on your road trip. Luna

Well i got to my parent's new house today. Go down to the newly finished basement and see a 150 gallon tank on a bar type deal so you can see it from 3 sides..

    ..it has koi in it...

ahhh what i would do with that tank....

it does look nice though..my dad has a couple nice rock formations out of smooth granite type "mini-boulders"..and its surprisingly very clean..he usually lets it get to where you can't see anything..then changes out all the water and starts over..he says "the algae means its healthy!" haha anyway..had a little frustration built up..just thought i'd release it in a safe place

A-men - if one thing is working, another isn't. i finally made my k-4 blow directly against the glass to diffuse it enough so that everything stays put

I love Zoas, I think I am going to set up a nano of nothing but zoas at some point. I think it would be kind of boring in a larger tank though.

I feel sorry for you. My macroalgae tank crashed yesterday. The HOB filter pump jammed or something but continued to heat the water to 45 degrees celsius, killing the pipefish pair, the porgie (jumped out) and all the feeder crabs and shrimp in the breeder boxes. Luckily my mantis shrimp survived (but tore one rapt out). In the cleanup process, I discovered a tiny jellyfish that no doubt came as a hitchhiker.

So does your g/f know anything about what it takes to have a well established marine aquarium? Don't let her get you down.
