The theory of a fw dip sounds good, but, in actuallity seems more stressfull than it's worth. I've considered it ,but, haven't tried it for various reasons. One of which bogie questioned. Was the fish healthy and eating when you brought it home. Did you acclimate correctly? Have you ever tried a fw dip? Don't want to buy shy fish(especially an angel). Picking out an angel requires spunk, eating, good coloration, and an overall look of health.

    Sorry for your loss bud.

Flame angels are very sensitive fish - more trouble then they are worth tbh as they can be quite difficult to keep alive.
They need a really well established system and good clean water. But you should be able to take it back to the store if its died with in 24hrs of the purchase.

This man nailed it with this post. When buy any kind of fish, look for the " alive" one, ask the LFS if you can see him eat. Some LFS will put some live brine shrimps or blood worms to show you if he has a good appetite. Sorry for your loss. Luna
