That would be a cool Picotope, I'd probably ditch the stand if it looks rough, but the rest of the equipment would be worth it.

thats kinda what i'm thinking, for 30 bucks, the filter heater and light(even if i have to replace bulb)would be worth at least that.I'm thinking about it;) (i'm not above a good scrubbin, even see about painting the stand, but it would have been a great canidate for the uglyest tank contest!!!!);D

Well, you could at least cure the rock, but cleaning the sand would suck.

Well thank you,i reaquascaped the 15 gallon today and set the 20 gallon up for a brackish tank with crushed coral and natual gravel mixed, added a big pile of base rock and a few fake plants(to be replaced with live plants soon)i'll post some new pics tomorrow after they both clear up.My hands are prunes today.

just scrub the hell out of it and use bleach, it will come clean, and you can paint the stand, that stand runs 150.00 by itself

Well i did it,i bought the 7 gal bowfront, the stand was completly unuseable. The power compact is a pos,so much corosion, wires spliced,it looked nice till i took it apart. The reason i took it apart is about 5 min of being on something popped and it was dead.I'm not gonna mess with it,even being an electrician,it's not worth it.But the stock flouresent hood was in very good shape and cleaned up good.Spent probably 5 hours cleaning the tank up,a little elbow grease did the trick and i'll get my light at tax time. The first is the tank before i bought it,next 2 are how it came out,the 4th is my 20 gallon"i think i'm just going to stay freshwater"is now also a full salty now as well,I had so much rock, crushed coral and salt left over that i couldn't help myself;D so now i'm telling myself i'm just gonna stay fowlr!! :wink3:
