I just got one from the lfs today to put on the outtake of my simmer. I was getting a crazy amount of bubbles in my tank because i have the octopus bh 800s. So i got the filter sock and no bubbles! It just looks ugly and stands out but i would rather have that than a million bubbles!

Also my skimmer is going kind of crazy i had the skimmer off for a few days because of the bubbles and now there is a lot of water in the collection cup, and a lot foam and a lot of turbulance going on at the top of the water, not sure if this is normal.

but no more microbubbles! lol i just wish the filter sock came in black

I hope your joking... also one thing you have to think about, is the filter sock causing back pressure? try to take it off and see if you still get the water in the collection cup. Is the water level in the skimmer the same height with or without the filter sock?

not sure if i'll be able to take it off easy because i have a zip tie on the filter sock to make it stay, but when i didn't have the filter sock on the water was always a lot lower, no turbulence in the collection cup and no foam in the collection cup either, so this is the first time i'm experiencing a lot of water in the cup

also skimmate is starting to build up really quickly, faster than it's ever done before

Puffer I would make sure and keep an eye the sock plugging up it could possibly overflow the skimmer and flood things.
