This afternoon I was putting some veggies in a veggie clip and my female blue throat trigger thought my finger was food and latched on hard. It startled me and I reacted by pulling my hand out quickly. Unfortunatley Mama T hung on and got flung out of the tank, landing hard on the wood floor.

She's back in the tank, but acting very badly. I'm worried that I caused severe internal injuries :(

As a side note, she drew blood and now my finger is swelling up. Dumb mistake on my part.

Hopefully she's just stunned, let us know how you make out. Fingers crossed.

You better not worry much about the tang and get that finger taken care of. I know from being a fisherman, that when you get nvolved with a fish and a cut, it can get infected very quick.

Second that on the infection. Our reefs host alot of nasty bacteria, and I've seem some pictures of some pretty horrible infections. Sorry about the trigger too, could be it's just a bit stunned and in shock.

UPDATE: Maybe a bit of a false alarm. Mama T timidly came out and ate a little. Papa T showed up too for moral support. Finger still a little swollen, but getting better.

Oh man, sorry to hear that. Glad to hear she's looking better. Tough fish I think! Make sure to take care of the finger though :)

The thing is, I'm always careful when feeding. I love the T's, but they want their food at feeding time.

I guess I didn't think that with my whole hand in the tank that she'd go for it. No wonder Papa T is so timid :)
