    I think i'm getting an idea to fix up a yacht! Instead of using 1-2 large noisy reef damaging propeller and use around 20+ Vortech MP60's, hey a lot of people that have yachts are rich am I right!?:)

    Yachts are huge. I dont think 20 mp60s would get one anywhere.

    Maybe a small yacht? Let's see 7500x20 is 150,000 GPH.x 40 is 300,000 GPH, I wonder how fast a 17.5 foot yacht could go with 40 MP60's:confused:

    1W = 0.00134 HP

    The vortech MP60 maxes out at 60w or 0.0804 HP

    A yacht is typically defined as 65' or more, that's probably around 40tons.

    Lets say we want to be able to at least move at displacement hull speed.

    Without getting too technical, a rough guestimate people commonly use is about 5hp per ton.

    So, we want about 200hp.

    200 / .0804 = approx 2488 MP60s ;)

    Well how much does a canoe weight. 100lbs. Plus passengers, say one light guy@150lbs, your still qt 250lbs total. I guess if you want to buy the 8ish MP60s, then have fun. It's probably a lot cheaper to just buy an electric troling motor though :p
