    That's right, I"m a real DIY'er, and want to make/build my own
HIgh water level cut off for my return pump.

I know it's been done many times before.
I"d like to see/hear/read about yours.

I plan to put it in the top of my DT, 'cause that's where it would really matter on my system.

This is purely for safetys sake.
My DIY overflow has never lost it's siphon.

I"d like to build a power cut off switch just in case.
I'm not a pilot, but I like the redundancy of aircraft safety systems for things.
I want redundancy in the safety.

    Anyone with their own design/plans?

    Thanks,

    But not exactly.

I want something that will go on my DT near the top, barely noticable,
that will shut my return pump down if my DIY overflow should ever fail.

So- I would not put that in the DT. There many things in the DT that can cause it to fail. Snails and saltcreep and algae among others. Since the level in your sump is proportional to the level in your DT, check for a drop in the sump and cut the power. If I were gonna do this, I would get a controller and diy the breakout box and the float. This way you can use the temp probe that comes standard as yet another check. My $.02

Nothing in the tank is going to cause the one that I posted to fail...
That is specifically why I posted that one because it works off of pressure in the tube and not a bobber
