I think I'm going to go for it. Nothing to DIY, just one plug and put the sensor near the top of the tank. Very clean install.

It says it goes up to 14 amp? I checked, my Marineland 5500 return pump only draws 1.3amps?

My DIY sump has a large volume that could be pumped in to my DT if my overflow fails. It hasn't yet, yet.

I don't want that to happen. I think I'll have to go for it.

It is a nice find...BUUUUT...I bet it won't last long in a reef environment...if it is marine safe...I want one too! I ordered some very cheap DC float switches from Ebay...just need an electrical engineer to help me design a switching/relay cirucuit to operate AC pumps!

if you have a controller on your tank you could add water sensors to your controller, thats what i did.

How much are we talking about with a controller? I know that adding a sensor or electric float is inexspensive.

Building the entire system would be a problem though for me without a controller.

Thats why I will probalby go with this plug and play version.
