I've had this cheap Wal-Mart heater for 3-4 years now and after seeing a few recent stories of heaters exploding or sticking, I have come to the realization that I am now on borrowed time. I want to be proactive and prevent an issue.

What is the best bang for my buck? I was looking at the 75 watt Eheim Jager TruTemp heater. It seems reasonably priced.

I just bought 2 Jagers for my setup. I used to use them on my fresh water setups and never had any issues.

I use the Finnex from BRS. it's a great heater so far with a great price. Got two that are still running strong. And the thermometer is pretty accurate as well.

I have been using the Via Aqua Titanium heaters for years and been very happy with them. They have a separate controller that is very accurate and a separate temp sensor so it can be placed away from the heater for more accurate temperature sensing.

Finnex, Jager, Cobalt, and be sure to run it on a controller.

I would go with Jager or Cobalt. I love my Cobalt neotherm that I added to my 20 gallon, well worth the $.
