Well ever since I set up my seahorse tank in January, I have not wanted anything to do with this hobby. In fact about 2 weeks ago I started taking offers for my corals and fish. I got in this hobby in 6th grade and now I’m a brand new freshman. In middle school I got to be known as the fish nerd because I can name almost any fish fresh or salt and tell u everything about them. Well I didn’t want that to happen in high school. But now after going to my farther (cheaper cooler live stock) lfs I have decided to try and fix up my tanks.

One of my tanks is a 2 year old 26 gallon full blown reef. It was perfect, fish corals live rock. Well after I got my 2 tank I gave up on it and started to call it my self-sustaining tank, I have MABEY feed it twice since January when gha took over from lack of maintenance because of my other tank. It had the bluest clam ever most of you would even think it was fake but it is absolutely amazing, well it almost died, and 90 percent of my other corals died without me even noticing.

That is not even half of what I want to say, I don’t want this post to be like a short book witch it could be.

So after all that I just want to see some tanks to try and modal my tanks after. I want to see any amazing tank pics u have, just to try and help me remember my tank and bring it back to the way it was.

Sorry this is more of me just getting my feelings out their than anything but I still want to see tanks

Don't leave. I have thought of just dropping everything as well, but I just go online and look at all the beautiful fish and corals which make me want to work to keep them alive.

Your are so young, take a break. If this hobby is a passion you will come back at a later date and age.

You can still read and interact on forums and study and show an interest in the hobby, you do not need a tank.

Good luck in your decision, everyone needs a bread sometimes. Go be a teenager......

    I agree take a break

Sale your stuff and take a break for a few years, the hobby will be here if you wish to return. Letting your corals, fish and what ever suffer and die is not cool. Your local aquarium store should help you get out with some money in your pocket.

Con999- dude dont sell your equiptment, you'll have a epic supply of parts if you ever decide to get back into the hobby if you can't find something that entertains you.

A good alternative may be to cut back to just one tank.

I have never gone without a tank, through high school (boarding school) I had a FW tank, in college a SW, it was more doable with just one tank and less sensitive fish and inverts.

    +1...

ever do planted freshwater? Just as pleasing in many respects... I keep a Planted FW 30g in addition to my 55 Reef. All Green you see in pics is real plantlife.

Many nice rare FW fish, I used to feed my African Butterfly below live crickets...

Even some of the Hardier fish can be stunning...

Right now my 'show peice' in my FW tank is a 1 foot long Bichir, similiar to an eel, but looks more like a snake. Awesome. Not my pic, but here is one of the identical species I have...

Nothing wrong with needing a break. I've been doing this since I was about 3 (SW for about 12 years all together), but I took a break about 8 years ago. I use to have an all SPS 125 that was running for about 8 years, most thought it was a beautiful tank but I got bored looking at a stick tank with almost no movement. I got out completely, never even had the urge to look at a pic...then about 3 yrs ago my son (who was 2 at the time) got into Nemo & Dori, I have different priorities now and don't have that kind of $$ to throw around on a all SPS tank, but my entire family enjoy my current 75 mix reef. Take a break, find yourself a hot girlfriend :), focus on school...if this is in your blood, you'll be back when the time is right. Because of my busy schedule, every once in a while I feel like getting out of it again, but my son who is now 5 is really into it so as long as he's in, I'm in :)
