I upgraded tanks today from a 46 bow to a 65 rr and I have water in there and sand and it is super cloudy! I have my fish coral and live rock in a big Tupperware container with a heater and a blower. I want to wait till the water clears so I can do my rockscaping and see what I'm doing. Is it ok to leave my fish and stuff in the container while the water clears? Or should I put all in the tank and scape later when clear? I'm worried about the fish and coral

The fish and coral will be okay for a little while(couple hours at most) but is this RR tank cycled? LR cycled? everything good to go? you may not have wanted to move EVERYTHING over soo quickly just to check and make sure everything is in check before you move everything over.

everything is cycled. I am just transferring tanks. All my LR water, coral, fish and everything is allready well established. 8+ months. Water is starting to clear up, fish have been in the tupperware since 1:00. hopefully i will be able to rockscape later tonight and move all over. Water temp with the new water i added is about 75 right now, still heating up.

i would leave the heater in there and have a power head moving the surface water and a airstone going and it should be fine over night. we had a power outage this summer it was 8 hours and just and air stone took care of things.

i dont have an airstone, but i do have a powerhead and a heater in there and it is keeping the water moving and the temp good. My biggest threat to my stuff is my 2 year old i think.

My 2 year old almost killed my fish today while in quarantine. Unplugged the whole setup. Temp drop, no filtration etc. Yea those kids sure are a pesky hobby.::)

Sands fine, storms come through and stir up reel reefs. The only problem might be seeing where your placing things. Still, they will be much better off in the more stable water of the tank, than the tuperware container. So, I would at least put the livestock in and most of the rock. You may need to wait to add all of the rock until you can see what your doing though. A canister filter with a filter pad should clear it pretty quickly if you have access to one. It can take quite a long time to settle on it's own.

im running my sump right now and its clearing but taking a long time. I will put the livestock in tonight at least and wait till tomorrow morning for the rest when it is cleared up. Just waiting on the water temp to go up a few degrees
