I have a 55 gallon (check it out) and would like to know if a kole tang would fit? I know people with tangs in their 55s with no problem. If you are the tang police, I am not planning anything until I get answers.

I think that will be fine as long as its a small one, it should take time to big enough where it would need more room. Most people end up going bigger eventually anyway. I have 2 tangs in my 55 but will be going up to a 90 or 120 this year, but they are happy, fat, full of color and healthy.

I guess I'm a Tang police kinda person. I'd have to say a 55G is too small for any tang.

Fish don't grow to the size of a tank. they just grow
I'm constantly seeing ads for Tangs that have out grown someones tank. and there is not a lot of big tanks out there to take in all these tangs

I agree with Jason on this if you want to keep the Tang for a long time. Or you could buy the Tang very small and keep him until he has out grown the tank. Then trade him in at the LFS. Its all up to you.
