Man....I really need some kind of auto shut off for my RO unit. I have flooded my laundry room like 4 times already and its getting old. I also hate always worrying whether I shut the water off or not.

What is the best way to control this? Basically I want to stop producing the good RO water and prevent it from overflowing the barrel or whatever container I have the hose in!

Will something actually shut off the water coming from the faucet or stop it?

    Thanks!

Then I am going to need an ATO for the tank...but thats another thing I have to figure out...I need room for a container under the tank.

You need an autoshutoff valve and check valve on the RO unit and either a float valve or solenoid and float switches on your holding reservoir.
The ASOV kit is maybe $15 and a float valve is about the same.
here is one source although I don't see the check valve listed:

    Here is the check valve:

Here is another source with them sold as a kit or a little better kit with a mini bladder tank which gives a positive shutoff:

I use the solenoid valve controller and set my switches a distance apart so it takes an 11 gallon drop in my 23 gallon storage container before it starts the RO/DI. This way I don't see the effects of TDS creep from a float starting and stopping with just a fraction of an inch drop in level.

One thing you can do is shut your water supply off after filling your reservoir and forcing it to drop quite a bit before truning the supply back on so you reduce the effects of TDS creep. The float valve will stil shut if off once its full so you don't have to watch over it but manually shut the supply off later.

Yes. H2O Science is the ebay arm of a company that has been around for years called www.purelyH2o.com and sells good stuff too. When you look at their systems you will notice they are not standard ebay fare or quality and their prices reflect that, they are more than most ebay type systems.

I run something that looks identical to this... I have John Guest fittings and a float valve on each of my reservoirs, so I can quickly disconnect the line and reconnect it to the reservoir I want to fill up. After a few overflow incidents, this saves a lot of hassle and creates less worry.
